The short version
SS LINKZ is a father and son making stainless steel chains. One of us has worn steel for years; the other is younger and wanted a chain that wasn't trying to look like gold. We agreed on the material first: 316L stainless.
Why steel
Gold plating wears off. Silver tarnishes. Cheap alloys can turn skin green. 316L stainless steel does none of that. It's the grade used in surgical tools and marine hardware, so it handles sweat, salt water and showers without any special care.
What we make
Four chain styles — Cuban, Rope, Figaro and Box — and one bracelet. Every piece is 316L with a solid clasp, and nothing is plated. The range is small on purpose.
Where we are
We're early. The shop isn't open yet. We're sourcing and testing the first pieces, and we won't list anything until we've worn them ourselves. Leave your email on the home page and we'll tell you when it's ready.
Built for everyday
Nothing here is for special occasions. It goes on in the morning and stays on.
Strength in simplicity
Four styles. No pendants, no stones, no gimmicks. The link is the design.
Honest material
316L stainless steel, stated plainly. What it is, is what you get.
Common questions
- Is 316L stainless steel good for jewelry?
- Yes. 316L is the same grade used in surgical instruments and marine hardware. It's corrosion resistant and water resistant, so it holds up to sweat, salt water and showers without breaking down.
- Will it tarnish or turn my skin green?
- No. Tarnishing and green skin come from silver oxidising and from plated brass or cheap alloys wearing through. 316L stainless steel doesn't tarnish and is hypoallergenic, so it stays the same and stays off your skin.
- What does SS LINKZ make?
- Four chain styles — Cuban, Rope, Figaro and Box — plus one Cuban bracelet. Every piece is solid 316L stainless steel with a solid clasp, in 18 to 24 inch lengths. Nothing is plated.
- Is anything gold or plated?
- No. There is no gold, no plating and no filler. What it is, is what you get: solid stainless steel.
- Can I wear it in the shower, at the gym, or in the ocean?
- Yes. Water, sweat and salt don't affect 316L, so you don't have to take it off for the shower, the gym or the sea.
- Can I buy yet?
- Not yet. We're early — the first drop is being sourced and wear-tested, and we won't list anything until we've worn it ourselves. Leave your email on the home page and you'll hear from us first.
